Like all great ideas, it started in a garage

It was a freezing cold day in the late nineties when a friend of a friend invited me to her apartment for a little get-together. I rang the bell and soon found myself at a little bar-section-thing by the kitchen. Eager to mix my first Screwdriver of the night I reached for the orange juice and vodka – the only thing missing now was ice! I went into the freezer and there it was, a white plastic tray with what was supposed to be ice cubes, but in reality was a disgusting blend of «snow» and old dinner particles. I closed the door in disappointment and swore to myself that never again will terrible cubes ruin a perfectly good night.

The 26th of June 1999 the world’s smallest ice cube factory was officially open for business. It looked more like a Mickey Mouse operation than a proper factory, but it brought ice to the people. Mr. Iceman had officially arrived and was there to stay.
